A Father Carrying His Son Seems Normal Enough, Until You Learn Why...And Then It's Tears All The Way

Yu Xukang is a 40-year-old father in the Fengyi township of Yibin county in southwest China's Sichuan province. Every day he puts his son on his back to give him a ride.

But unlike many fathers who carry their sons for a quick game of fun, Yu takes his son to school - over 4.5 miles away! Xiao suffers from a disability that caused both his arms and legs to be twisted and his back to be hunched. In the area of China where the two live, there are no school buses or public transportation options so the only way for him to get to school is on his father's back.
So far Xiao's father has walked nearly 1,600 miles up and down hills to make sure that his son gets the best education he can.
Despite being 12 years old, Xiao is just 90cm tall, and with his physical disability he can't walk or ride a bike to school.
Yu wakes up every day at 5am to prepare his son's lunch, then carries him the 4.5 miles to school. After that he returns home to work, and then walks back to school to pick him up at the end of the day.
Yu says that although his son is physically disabled, there is nothing wrong with his mind, and his dream is for him to be able to go to college one day.

Update: After this story was shared with local media, the local government announced that they would rent a room for the dad in the near future to help reduce the father's workload. Share this incredible journey with your friends and show the world that love really does conquer all!

8 Weird things men like in women

Men are crazy. And they get crazier when they see you approach them in those red pumps and skinny jeans with a baggy and casual tee in style and confidence.

Although there are a thousand things that make you irresistible, here are the top most unbelievable ones:

1. No make-up: Oops. Sorry girl. There's a great chance that your guy hasn't even noticed your smokey eyes or the new bronzer on your face. Save money and turn him on!

2. Lingerie that doesn't match: And you thought you should pair your lacy, satin purple panties with a purple bra? Show him that you are unprepared and yet give in to his desires and make yourself hotter!

3. Wit: You thought it was all about physical contact? Crack a joke or flash your smile and he's sure to get wooed! Tip: It's better still if you are game even for jokes that are played on you. And why not? It just proves how self-assured you are.

4. Curvy is sexy: He doesn't like flat abs and zero sizes. Men love love-handles.

5. Intelligence, confidence, emotional maturity and sexual openness: Flaunt your real self (sans the gloss), support him when he is down, talk dirty and show your sensual attitude, and girl, you've got him!

6. Wearing a baggy tee to bed: Stay casual and he'll be more comfortable in your company. Don't intimidate him by being prim always or sounding like a know-it-all.

7. Unkempt hair: Whoa, why get prim and proper when your man likes your out-of-the-bed hair or smudged kohl eyes?

8. Eye contact: Make yourself irresistible by looking at his eyes and putting across your point. Don't be shy.

9 foods men need to eat

Here is a list of essential foods for good health

While many men are less conscious about what they eat, experts say that at times, eating healthy can mean different things for men and women because both sexes have their own set of dietary requirements.

Tomatoes
Tomatoes are also known as superfoods because of their numerous benefits. Tomatoes contain lycopene, which, studies say help reduce the risk of colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, heart disease and lower cholesterol — all common ailments in men.

Oysters
Oysters have high levels of zinc — essential for men's fertility and sexual health. Zinc maintains healthy testosterone levels and is excellent for healthy sperm production. It is also great for the hair.

Whole grains
Whole grains contain healthy levels of vitamins, minerals and fibre. Whole grains like oats and brown rice have healthy amounts of B vitamins, good for over-all well-being and they also help alleviate depression. Studies also say that folate can keep sperm healthy, while biotin helps curb hair loss.

Garlic
While garlic is known for the role it plays in protecting the heart, it is said that men who consume garlic regularly have lower cholesterol levels.

Salmon
Not only is salmon a great source of protein, it is also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which have been linked to lowered levels of bad cholesterol. They also reduce the risk of heart disease, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer and depression.

Blueberries
Experts say that blueberries have high levels of proanthocyanidins, which are linked to a reduced risk of prostate cancer. Blueberries are also said to be effective in reducing the risk of heart disease, Type 2 Diabetes and age-related memory loss.

Broccoli
Broccoli, as well as cabbage and sprouts, contains a strong cancer-fighting chemical called sulphoraphane, which is said to reduce men's risk of developing bladder cancer, prostate cancer and colorectal cancer.

Eggs
Suffering from hair loss? Make sure you include eggs in your diet. Eggs have high sources of protein, important for hair growth. The yolk is also a good source of iron.

Pomegranate juice
Pomegranate juice helps lower cholesterol levels and prevent hypertension because it is packed with vitamins, antioxidants and minerals. Some studies have also suggested that having pomegranate juice daily can slow down the progress of prostate cancer.

Your nail-biting habit can actually kill you!

A British man, who used to bite his nails constantly, has died due to his bad habit.

John Gardener had contracted a septic infection because of his habit and died while he was recuperating from a surgery to remove the tip of a finger, Metro.co.uk reported. Gardener's doctor said that the former amateur football referee's fingernails were always in a 'bad condition' and he had lost a lot of sensation in them.

'Gardener's mum said that she wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else's son and people should be aware of the potentially fatal results stemming from this habit.

Your derriere is super important. Build it!

They can make or break an outfit. Here's how to get your derriere in perfect shape

So your thighs and arms are toned and waist is just perfect. And you think that's all you need to slip into a clingy dress and pull it off. It's one of the most neglected parts of the body, but, as Pippa Middleton will guarantee, your derriere grabs more attention that you might give it credit for.

Here's how to get a peach-perfect behind:

Booty booster
If your bottom is more flat than fabulous then invest in a pair of buttock-enhancing knickers which contain hidden pads that give you a curvier look.

If gravity is your problem (not so much size) invest in good quality shape wear that will leave a smooth finish under clingy fabrics and enhance those curves, while keeping your tummy in.

The derriere diet
Working out increases protein turnover — the rate at which protein is broken down and then rebuilt. Consequently, if you're working out and don't eat sufficient protein, then you could actually end up losing muscle mass. Your muscles use protein better if it's eaten little and often, so opt for around 25g several times a day.

High-quality protein comes from foods such as eggs, fish, milk and chicken, and to stimulate protein you need insulin, which is released when we eat carbs. Combining food is ideal — for instance sweet potato with tuna, pasta with chicken, even a glass of milk helps. Don't forget to add some fruit for an extra antioxidant hit.

Beautify your bottom
Most of us tend to neglect our back side when it comes to cleansing routines. This can lead to dry skin buildup and can cause small bumps under the skin. To avoid this problem make sure you exfoliate the skin on your bottom twice a week when you shower. Try a good scrub or exfoliating gloves.

This area of the body is prone to cellulite. While there is no perfect cure for this problem, daily dry body brushing will help. Just be sure to always brush upwards and towards the heart.

Exercises for your tush
Do the squat

Squats are one of the best exercises for the lower body as they target the hips, glutes and thighs. And you can do them anywhere. Stand in front of a chair with your feet shoulder-width apart. Now, contract your abs and, keeping them tight, bend the knees and slowly squat, aiming to touch your hips to the chair. Ensure that your knees don't extend beyond your toes. Hold the pose for a few seconds. As you rise, contract the glutes and hamstring muscles. Fully extend the legs until you are back to standing position.

Lunge forward
Lunges help target the glutes and hamstrings. Stand with feet about three feet apart. Both knees should be at right angles. Hold weights in each hand.

Bend both knees and lower the back knee toward the floor, keeping the front heel down and the knee over the centre of the foot. Keep the torso straight and hold your abs tight as you push through the front heel. Return to starting position.

Sex heals your body and Soul

Sex is not just about pleasure and getting close to your partner, it is also has certain health benefits that we have listed below.

Lowers stress

Sex helps to create a balance between our emotional and mental health as it is a great stress buster. After sex, the brain releases endorphins that decrease stress, inducing a state of euphoria, in an individual.

Boosts our immune system

Regular lovemaking boosts the body's production of virus fighting chemicals. Recent research has revealed that regular sex can maintain antibodies at a higher level, thereby protecting us against infection.

Improves sleep

If you suffer from insomnia, then try having sex before you head to bed, as it induces sleep.

Promotes heart health

A recent study shows that men who have sex more than twice a week, have a lesser chance of having a heart attack, when compared to men who avoid sex.

Balanced hormone level

Have trouble with your menstrual cycle? Then, make love with your partner, as this will help regulate the menstrual cycle and also decrease cramps as sex helps maintain a balanced hormonal level.

Strengthens pelvic muscles

Sex involves the use of several muscles; hence, it can help you develop stronger pelvic muscles. Sex can also help strengthen your quads, core, and upper back.

Look beautiful

Sex can be a beauty treatment for women, since during intercourse, the estrogen levels double and this makes hair shine and the skin becomes softer.

10 things he’ll notice about you in 10 mins

Just the kind of drink you choose or the amount of cleavage you show can make a huge difference

1. Sunny smile: The way you
smile can say a lot about the person you are. Make sure that if you are meeting a guy for the first time you are don't come across as someone who's eager to please him and therefore is laughing at all his jokes a tad too enthusiastically. At the same time don't appear too stern by keep a serious face.

2. Dress it up: What you wear is obviously one of the first things that a guy is likely to judge you on. Whether you are a tom boy or a girly girl... all is revealed by the way you dress and most guys will decide whether to make a move or back off just by looking at the way you dress.

3. Your drink: The best way to figure you out is by your drink. Your drink can demystify you within no time. Like if you are a woman between 21-24 having rum and coke, you may be thought to be someone who doesn't have an adventurous life.

4. Can you talk? Don't try to fake interests where you have none. So if the guy is talking about
football and you have no clue about it, don't pretend to be an avid fan. Just tell him outright that this isn't your field of expertise.

5. Hair scare: Are Plain Janes associated with a bun? The kind of hairstyle you sport is definitely going to leave an impression. An out of the bed look is fine, but if your hair is downright messy then it can be a major turn off.

6. Watch your cleavage:
Yes, if he is a man he is bound to check out your cleavage. So, be aware of what you are projecting yourself to be. A buttoned-up shirt is likely to give you a conservative look, while showing off too much may make you seem like an easy girl. So know what you are showing.

7. What's in your bag? If your bag resembles a haversack it's not going to be very appealing, you may not be high maintenance, but if you keep bringing out stuff it may give a guy an impression that you are a hoarder or high maintenance.

8. Glam it up or tone it down: You don't need to look like an made up doll if you are at a coffee shop, similarly don't look like you have had no time to even wash your face if you are at a party. Neither is appealing, and a guy is bound to notice.

9. Clean it up: We are talking about your skin here. Guys don't
notice things like a blemish on your face. But a fake tan or just an unwashed face can be a turn off. It's okay to not put on any make up, but ensure that you look clean.

10. Hold yourself: The way you sit or stand or move tell a lot about you. Fidgeting too much in your seat is a clear indication of your nervousness, while sitting far too straight may make you seem a bit stressed. Relax, be calm and just be yourself.

Men prefer virgins, but not women!

A new study has found that women want to be bedded by experienced men, but men prefer to have women who have had no experience whatsoever.

According to a study for MSN, women prefer the likes of serial-dater
George Clooney, while men go for girl-next-door types such as Holly Willoughby or Myleene Klass over sex sirens, the Daily Star reported.

The study also found that 1 in 10 men want to have bedded at least 11 women before meeting their ideal partner and just 5 percent women wish they had slept with more than 10 men before meeting their life partner.

The findings also showed that both the sexes prefer witty partners.

Lifestyle changes to be cancer free

Here are seven lifestyle nips 'n' tucks that will help improve your odds against cancer

Recent research on the genetics of
cancer may give an impression that some are fated for the disease, but that's not necessarily true. Healthy behaviours could prevent about half of all cancer deaths. Here are seven dos and don'ts to reduce your risk of the dreaded disease.

1. Exercise regularly: Be physically fit. Research shows active people have a lower risk of developing colon and breast cancers than people who don't exercise. You don't need to be a superathlete to get the benefits of exercise. Any exercise that raises your heartrate and makes you sweat like brisk walking, biking, dancing or aerobics is beneficial. While at it, ensure that your weight is in the normal range for your height. Keep to a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or less. Increases in
BMI are linked to endometrial, gall bladder, esophageal, renal, thyroid and colon cancers. Medical experts advise, stay within five to 10 kilos of what you weighed at 18.

2. Cut down on alcohol: Alcohol does not only put a load on your liver and slows
vitamin absorption, but is also a contributing factor to oral cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, oral cancer is six times more common in alcohol users than in people who don't drink. Limit your alcohol consumption. This means no more than two drinks per day for men and one drink per day for women. And steer clear of weekend binge drinking. You tend to consume more alcohol than you would have set out to.

3. No smoking: The graphic packet makes it amply clear that 'cigarette smoking is injurious to health'. Smoking causes a host of cancers, including that of the lung, esophagus, mouth, throat, stomach and pancreas, according to the National Cancer Institute. It's also the leading cause of premature, preventable
death. Is this relevant reason enough for smokers to quit the stub?

4. Get sun screened: Protect your skin from the sun. Its ultraviolet rays damage the skin's DNA and can cause genetic mutations that lead to skin cancer. Use sunscreen every time you go outdoors (preferably one with an SPF of 30 or higher that protects against both UVA and UVB rays). Keep covered with a broad hat and sunglasses. Also, stay away from radiation. Avoid exposures to cancercausing substances. Radiation exposures and some chemicals are known to cause cancer. For example, ionizing radiation that comes from gamma rays, high-energy UV rays and X-rays is linked to cancers of the lung, skin, thyroid, breast and stomach.

5. No HRT: Women, as far as you can, avoid taking hormone replacement therapy to treat symptoms of menopause. A number of studies have linked hormone use to an increased risk of uterine cancer. If you need to take hormones, limit the use to less than five years, your gynaecologist would advise.

6. Follow a healthy diet: Eat a colourful diet rich in green leafy vegetables, pink carrots, and red tomatoes. It reduces the risk of cancer. Research suggests that a plant-based diet is associated with reduced risks for several cancers, especially colon cancer. The recommendations include keeping your intake of red meat to no more than four ounces per day. Avoid processed meats, eat at least five servings of a variety of non-starchy vegetables and fruits every day, and minimise your intake of sugary drinks, juices, desserts and candies, refined breads and chips.

7. Go for screening: Get screened for cancer regularly. Screening tests can detect cancers of the colon, breast, prostate, cervix and skin (ask your doctor how often to get them and at what age you should start). Even if you don't have any symptoms, finding cancer early greatly increases your chances of treatment and even cure. Screening tests can include physical exams, blood tests, imaging and X-rays and genetic tests.

There are several medications that have been tested and found effective for reducing risk for cancer. For example, drugs called selective oestrogen receptor modulators can help women with a high risk of developing breast cancer stay cancer-free. But consult your family physician first and do not self-medicate.

The 6 tools every man should own

Go beyond gaming consoles and music players and check out a few practical tools that can help you with home repairs lest an emergency arises...

1. Wire Cutters: Because that tooth you lost as you tried to peel off a particularly tough wire isn't coming back, it's safe to use tools meant for the purpose. A pair of wire
cutters always proves handy for any electrical emergencies you may have. Plus it is safe, as the plastic grip at the end prevents you from getting electrocuted.

2. Claw Hammer: After you have drilled a hole in the wall, it is a light claw hammer that is used to drive the nail in. Its claw also helps you pull out old nails, thereby protecting the surface where you're plucking the nail out from. And no, using a pestle is not a good idea as it could damage your fingers as well as your walls. Plus the Mrs won't be too happy either!

3. Leatherman: A multi-purpose knife that makes other knives look like needles, this is a gadget that every man should own. From screwdrivers, to serrated blades, wire cutters, crimpers, pliers, scissors and even can-openers, the array of tools it offers is astonishing and practical. Besides that, you can always improvise with the many adjustments it provides.

4. Electric Drill: There's always space for home improvement. Maybe its that new family photo you want to hang on the wall. Or a new name-plate for the main door. The old fashioned way was to go banging away with the hammer. However, using an electric drill is a smart, clean way of going about things. It gets the work done fast, and there is no noise. So your neighbours don't have to worry about the wall coming down on their heads!

5. Crimpers: A live internet connection is a lifeline. So, when the cables go awry and you face downtime, you don't need to wait for your internet guy to come in and sort your problem. Because if you notice, most times, the guy will just chip off your ethernet cable, put in new RJ45 connector and fix it with a crimper. To avoid all that hassle, all you need is a crimper and a connector and you will be back online in no time, unless the issue is serious.

6. Multimeter: Remember using the old green
screwdriver which lit up at the end when you used it to check whether the wire was live? If you did and have lived to read this, you are a lucky man as there was no fuse in those little things to prevent electrocution. Get a digital multimeter instead. It helps measure voltage, current, and resistance and to check whether the power line is functioning and at what level. If the voltage is too high, the in-built fuse that it has, helps avoid electrocution due to a current overload.

Internet turns 25: 8 things you should know

Imagining life without Google, Facebook and Twitter is almost impossible today. But, internet itself was a dark reality until 25 years ago. It was on March 12, 1989 that the world wide web (www) was born, thus marking its 25th birth anniversary today. But it was only in the mid-90s that web came into public life and changed the world in so many ways than one could have imagined.
According to web inventor Tim Berners-Lee, it was invented for very different reasons. On its silver jubilee, here’s everything you need to know about the web …

Birth of web
The world wide web (www) was invented by Tim Berners-Lee – a British scientist at CERN – on March 12, 1989. The original idea behind the web was to meet the demand for automatic information-sharing between scientists working at universities and institutes around the world by merging technologies of personal computers, computer networking and hypertext into a powerful and easy-to-use global information system.

The proposal
Tim Berners-Lee teamed up with Belgian systems engineer Robert Cailliau and presented the first proposal for www in 1989. In the following year, on November 12, 1990, the duo published a formal proposal highlighting all the important concepts behind the web.
The proposal described a "hypertext project" called "WorldWideWeb" in which a network of "hypertext documents" could be viewed by “browsers”. A prototype of the software for a basic web system was already being demonstrated. The first examples of this interface were developed on Apple’s NeXT computers.

The first website
European research organization CERN was the birthplace of web or www. The first website at CERN was also the first website in the world. CERN dedicated the website to the “WorldWideWeb project” and it was hosted on Berners-Lee's NeXT computer.
The website had a simple interface and described the basic features of the web, how to access other people's documents and how to set up your own server.

First web server outside Europe
At Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) in California, the first web server out of Europe was installed on December 12, 1991. Then, in 1993, the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois launched Mosaic browser, which was easy to run and install on ordinary PCs and Macintosh computers.

Web goes public
It was April 30, 1993 when CERN put the world wide web software in the public domain. To increase its reach, CERN made the next releases available with an open licence along with a basic browser and a library of codes.
By the end of 1994, the web had 10,000 servers - of which 2000 were commercial - and 10 million users.

The line-mode browser
The browser which Berners-Lee had designed on his NeXT computer was far too advanced and complicated for other computers of that time and thus there was a need for a much simpler browser that could work with a wide variety of computers and terminals, some of them rather basic. The line-mode browser was nothing but a compilation of links. No images, no colours, no clicking – it was just content.
The browser was so simple that even a computer with a screen only capable of showing 24 rows of 80 characters could run it. For a modern audience, it was an unimpressive medium.

Tech prediction goes wrong
"Almost all of the many predictions now being made about 1996 hinge on the internet's continuing exponential growth. But I predict the internet will soon go spectacularly supernova, and in 1996 catastrophically collapse." These were the words of Robert Metcalfe, the inventor of the Ethernet and founder of 3Com. His prediction turned out to be far from accurate, as the world wide web continues to not only grow but drive big changes across the globe.

Web is not internet

Many of us confuse the two and believe web and internet are same. However, the truth is that web is not internet.
The internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks. It is a ‘path’ on which the web runs.
