Reasons why you MUST eat garlic

Reasons garlic is good for you

- Garlic is antiviral and antifungal. It has been used for centuries for its antibacterial properties. The chemical component of garlic, allicin, has been shown to prevent the growth of the candida albicans fungus.

- Garlic can reduce
cholesterol. Its powerful antioxidant properties prevent free radical damage to the arterial lining and stop the formation of scar tissue.

- Eat garlic to lower your
blood pressure. Garlic has the ability to decrease platelet stickiness, which will help in making your blood thinner.

- Garlic can help to regulate blood sugar levels, which is good for people with type 2 diabetes.

-
Baked potatoes and baked garlic with cress salad — this is a simple way to eat garlic and tastes great

- Fight colds and flu by eating garlic whenever you can in soups and salads. It's also delicious as a roasted vegetable

Reasons she dumped you

Suddenly single and don't know what hit you? Here are some reasons why she may have applied the brakes on your relationship

If you've been in a
relationship that has coasted along just fine until it suddenly hits a snag, it can be a rather disorienting experience. She may say "It's not you, it's me", but chances are it really was you.

No one pulls the plug on a great partnership for flimsy reasons. If you're lucky and can handle the truth, you will get the undiluted version of why she thinks it's not going to work out. But nobody likes to be the bearer of bad news and it's just easier to let a man down with a diplomatic line. Her job is done and her hands are clean, but you're left with only your battered
ego for company.

She felt suffocated

You think you're always right and want to have your way most of the times. But you pushed your luck in the relationship when this habit encroached on her personal space. Like you, she enjoys attention from the opposite sex, having a girls' night out every once in a while on a weekend and doing things that make her feel good about herself such as dancing, singing or playing the guitar. If you often picked up a fight with her for hanging out with her male colleagues, or told her not to wear certain outfits that you deemed as revealing, then you dug your own grave. You restricted her freedom and led her to think of you as a lesser man.

You were clingy

You didn't have a life of your own. You cut off your close
friends so that you could spend all your time with her. You called her at work every now and then to check if she is fine. Your emails and texts were over-the-top and mushy. You didn't complain, you didn't argue and you didn't take the initiative when it came to planning an outing. Instead of being an interesting and challenging guy, you were baggage. A little mystery and self-control is always good if you want to hold on to your girl.

You want a counsellor

Every woman wants to be loved and nurtured. However, you were looking for a confidante and a shoulder to cry on. You poured your heart out about all your life problems, hoping that she would have all the answers. You made her feel like she was your mother. And this changed her perception of you from a man to an immature child, who constantly needed someone to wipe his tears and hold his hand, which she obviously had not signed up for.

You have hygiene issues

You eat with your mouth open, your breath is less than minty fresh and you burp loudly in public. She never told you that but probably dropped a lot of hints which you failed to pick up.

If you took your girl for granted and thought it was okay to ignore personal hygiene, you shouldn't really be surprised by your relationship's premature demise, should you? Your socalled casual habits were the reason for her embarrassment lots of times. She just chose not to put up with your smelly armpits, flaky dandruff or unclean nether regions every time.

You were bad in bed

You came early, were selfish and never made an attempt to satisfy her. You thought that she was okay with that but she probably never told you so, just to spare your ego. Brush up your skills and learn to give equally in bed.

You have no confidence

Even without good looks, a confident man can win over some of the hottest women. If you are low on self-esteem because you have not been with many
women so far in your dating career, are not earning enough or too shy to socialise with her friends, your woman will sense it instantly. It's a big turn off to be with a man who is not sure of himself. She is likely to think, how will you take care of her when you are unable to take care of yourself?

She was not that into you

While the sex was great, you could never establish an emotional connect with her. You may not have had anything in common in terms of music, movies or food. Whether she never made an effort to understand you or you realised it later, you need to find someone who is into you. The foundation for a strong relationship is based on mutual respect and shared experiences. Maybe next time round, you might just get lucky.

4 reasons why you shouldn’t eat bread

Whether its sandwiches or subs, a lot of us love eating bread and do so, on a daily basis. But it isn't exactly the most healthy foods that there are. Here's why you should stay away from bread!
It doesn't have many nutrients:
Unlike other food items, bread, especially white bread and items made from it lack nutrients. You're not getting any fiber, you're not getting the wholesomeness of grains — you're basically getting nothing important out of it. While bread made of wheat is a little better, if you're looking for nutrients, bread made out of whole grains are what you must opt for.

It contains too much salt:
Most bread varieties, especially the processed kind that you buy from the supermarket, contain lots of salt. So if you eat lesser bread, the amount of sodium in your body is significantly reduced. Of course, one slice of bread, every now and then won't do any damage. In fact, you can bake your own bread at home, without adding too much salt.

It makes you gain weight
If you eat too much of bread, because of all carbs, salt, refined sugar and preservatives that it contains, it can make you put on pounds! Eating it in moderation is fine; especially when you take the time to make sure it's as healthy as possible.

It's not a wholesome, filling meal
Since certain kinds of bread lack nutrients, when you eat them, you might not feel satiated, because it's not filling!

We give you eight reasons why you need to work out before your day officially begins

Some people will tell you that it makes absolutely no difference what time of day you work out at. They say that the result is the same whether you train at 7 am or 7 pm. Yet, fitness experts
stress on the benefits of training first thing in the morning. Apart from building consistency and preventing you from waiting for your dumbbells, here are eight reasons why the early bird gets the worm.

Kickstarts your metabolism
Training in the AM hours also jump-starts your metabolism and helps keep it elevated for hours. In this way, your increased metabolism will be working — and burning more calories — while you are, instead of when your body is at rest. If you sit at a desk all day, you know that this is reason enough to get your engine running as soon as possible.

Gifts you energy
Exercising in the morning energises you for the day. So, if the weather and accumulated fatigue have you feeling less than active lately, you might want to try hitting the
gym first thing in the morning. Doing so will release endorphins and other hormones to give you a much-appreciated boost that often lasts all day.

Clears your mind
Studies have also shown that
exercise significantly increases mental acuity. Training early helps clear your head and put you in a healthy frame of mind. Working out before your day officially begins allows you to start each day with a fresh perspective as you destroy the stresses of the previous day with a bench-press or a run on the treadmill. This will help you reduce the chances of getting upset during the course of your new day.

Regulates your appetite
Many people find that morning exercise has a tendency to regulate appetite for the rest of the day. Not only do such people eat less (since activity causes the release of endorphins, which in turn diminishes appetite), they also choose healthier portions of healthier foods. You will discover that your meal times will get regularised and you don't experience as many cravings and serious dips in
energy levels, which will deter binge eating.

Increases mental awareness
You may have noticed that you feel more alert and ready to take on whatever challenge life throws your way after a good workout. If you train before your day begins, you'll be better equipped to deal with the battles presented to you at work. In fact, working out increases your mental acuity for four to 10 hours after exercise. This is due, in part, to the increased flow of oxygen-rich blood to the brain.

Increases discipline
Exercising in the morning gives you that gratifying feeling of knowing you've done something disciplined and good for you. It takes a great deal of motivation to get of bed, much more if you need to get to the gym. However, including that habit and finding the courage to get to the gym can drastically improve the quality of your life. Before you know it, the
discipline it takes to work out every morning will spill over into other areas of your life and you'll be as driven in your cabin as you are on the elliptical machine.

Sleep better
Working out regularly results in better sleeping patterns and snooze quality. Your body will tell you that it's time for bed, but knowing that you have to get up to train the next morning will also help you hit the bed at a decent hour. It is difficult to build mass and improve your
cardio if you don't rest properly.

Improves your diet
Exercising before eating could shock your system and it will usually throw your body into a catabolic state (where your body burns muscle for energy). Have a lowcalorie snack, such as an apple or some yogurt, about 30 minutes to an hour before you train. The snack will give you the energy you need for your training and it will burn off quickly. You'll crave better foods, and you won't want to waste the hard work that you put in by choosing cheeseburger over a healthy snack like a veg salad sandwich.
