4 reasons why you shouldn’t eat bread

Whether its sandwiches or subs, a lot of us love eating bread and do so, on a daily basis. But it isn't exactly the most healthy foods that there are. Here's why you should stay away from bread!
It doesn't have many nutrients:
Unlike other food items, bread, especially white bread and items made from it lack nutrients. You're not getting any fiber, you're not getting the wholesomeness of grains — you're basically getting nothing important out of it. While bread made of wheat is a little better, if you're looking for nutrients, bread made out of whole grains are what you must opt for.

It contains too much salt:
Most bread varieties, especially the processed kind that you buy from the supermarket, contain lots of salt. So if you eat lesser bread, the amount of sodium in your body is significantly reduced. Of course, one slice of bread, every now and then won't do any damage. In fact, you can bake your own bread at home, without adding too much salt.

It makes you gain weight
If you eat too much of bread, because of all carbs, salt, refined sugar and preservatives that it contains, it can make you put on pounds! Eating it in moderation is fine; especially when you take the time to make sure it's as healthy as possible.

It's not a wholesome, filling meal
Since certain kinds of bread lack nutrients, when you eat them, you might not feel satiated, because it's not filling!

About Men: Everything you want to know

We give you a small ready reckoner on how men behave in relationships...

Guys tend to get serious with their relationship and become too possessive.

It's not easy for a guy to let go of his girlfriend after they broke up especially when they've been together for 3 years or more.

A guy has to experience rejection, because if he's too-good-never-been-busted, never been in
love and hurt, he won't be matured and grow up.

When an unlikable circumstance comes, guys blame themselves a lot more than
girls do.

Guys have strong passion to change.

Guys are tigers in their peer groups but become tamed pussycats with their girlfriends.

When a guy pretends to be calm, check if he's sweating. You'll see that he is nervous.

When a guy asks you to leave him alone, he's just saying, "Please come and listen to me"

When a guy loves you, bring out the best in him.

If a guy starts to talk seriously, listen.

If a guy has been kept shut or silent, say something. (He generally has a lot of frustration in mind then)

Guys believe that there's no such thing as love at first sight, but court girls anyway and then realize at the end that he is wrong.

Guys like femininity not feebleness.

A guy may instantly know if the girl likes him but can never be sure unless the girl tells him. (So girls you should think of making the first move)

A guy would waste his time over video games and basketball, the way a girl would do over her romance novels and make-ups.

Guys love girls who can
cook.

Guys like girls who are like their moms. No kidding!

A guy's friend knows everything about him.

Not to do's while trying to impress her

Here are a few things you should steer clear of when you are struggling to impress your girl

Worried you will end up offending her with your histrionics on your first date? Well, one of the easiest way to have a successful date is to remember to be yourself.

She is probably just as nervous as you are and this knowledge will take you a long way. Be your chivalrous best and keep in mind that a little flattery can't hurt. But always be sincere with your compliments because mindless, meaning less flattery can work against you. Gift her flowers — yes we know its ancient — but it usually works. Here are a few things you should steer clear of when you are struggling to impress your
girl.

Do not talk about your ex
Girls do not like it if you start bashing your
ex on the first date. It is a complete turn off to listen to a man talk about his other women in his life in a derogatory manner. She doesn't want to hear about it despite what you think. Don't led her wonder — is that how he will talk about me to other women?

Do not boast about how many women you have dated
This definitely is the number one turn off... No woman would like to hear her date bragging about how many women he has had sex with. She does not need to hear how good you are in bed. If she is sexually interested in you (never on your first date that's for sure) trust us, she will let you know. She would not like it if you gave the impression that you sleep with every single woman you lay your eyes on.

Do not order food for her
It is safe to ask her what she would like to have instead of ordering for her. Avoid forcing her to taste a particular dish you assume she will like.

Do not wear sloppy clothes
Don't go on your date wearing your old pair of tack pants and vest. Wearing good clothes is important. Put on some good smelling stuff. Make sure to bush your teeth and do your hair. Put on some nice shoes. Dress to impress.

Do not complain about the food price in the menu
It looks very cheap when you discuss or complain about the food prices in the menu. If you cannot afford it is wiser not to invite your date to an expensive eatery. Go to your local cafe instead.

Google wanted to buy WhatsApp for even more than $19 billion

Internet search titan Google reportedly went all out to thwart Facebook's acquisition of mobile messaging app WhatsApp. According to a report by TheInformation, Google CEO Larry Page went to meet WhatsApp chief Jan Koum last week in a desperate bid to prevent the deal from materializing.

The report cites three sources claiming that Page reached out to Koum upon hearing of Zuckerberg's offer of giving him a seat on the board of directors of
Facebook as part of the acquisition deal. One of the sources says that Page told Koum, "Stay independent as you've always planned. You're a big threat to Facebook. And joining Facebook would have a major impact on how things play out for years to come."

It goes on to say that Google was ready to outbid Facebook's $19 billion offer, but Koum reportedly felt that Facebook would give it more independence and the two share the view of bringing people closer.

One of the sources says that Google itself was not too happy about paying such a huge sum for the messaging app but was willing nevertheless in order to keep
it out of Facebook's hands.

This is not the first time Google has approached WhatsApp. Before WhatsApp agreed for Facebook's $19 billion deal, speculation was rife that Google also tried its luck at acquiring the popular messaging service.

A report by Fortune cites two separate sources to claim that Google offered to purchase WhatsApp for $10 billion, though it's unclear exactly when the search giant attempted to arrange a deal. The report stated that the bid came without a promise of a Google board seat, unlike Facebook's agreement.

Another report by The Information cites three unnamed sources as saying that Google was even willing to top Facebook's $19 billion offer. Google CEO Larry Page also assured WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum that Google will allow the messaging startup to operate independently and compete with Facebook. However, WhatsApp founders rebuffed the offer as they reportedly felt the company was able to identify more with Facebook's philosophy.

It also mentions that Google had made an offer to WhatsApp wherein it would get the right to be notified in case WhatsApp entered acquisition talks, in exchange for a sum amounting to millions of dollars. WhatsApp did not accept the offer made a few months ago.

Following the deal with Facebook, Koum would take a place at Facebook's board and has assured that "nothing" would change for users immediately as Facebook plans to run WhatsApp independently, much like Instagram.

7 tips for men to understand women better

A new survey has helped compile seven tips on how men can rise above others in their dealings with women.

Firstly,
communication should not be a problem, as for the women there is nothing as appealing as a man, who listens to them. If a man wants to tell them something they wouldn't mind knowing it but face-to-face is always preferable and if that is not possible men can contact them via texts, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Secondly, complimenting women is nice, as sometimes they do need a bit of verbal assurance.

Phrases that might help men in a crisis: "Your hair looks awesome tonight!" "Is that a new dress?" "You blitzed it in that tennis match/speech/insert other awesomeness here!"

Thirdly, a man should not be a penny pincher instead he should pay on his first date if they want to see the lady again.

Fourthly, they should organise their social
life and there are two obvious problem areas there:

First, the man who never does anything off his own
bat, women may find it nice if they went and did something interesting occasionally.

Second, a male who simply does too much, women would like that person to take out some time for them.

Fifthly, some thought should be put by men in the presents that they give to women.

Sixthly, men should try to get a bit stylish and should
invest in a fool-proof man outfit: nice jeans, a T-shirt and unscuffed trainers and for more smart-casual occasions, substitute in a good quality shirt and some leather shoes.

Lastly, when men don't know the direction of a place they should admit it and not pretend about knowing it.

How much water should you drink every day?

It's important to drink water according to your lifestyle rather than follow the 8-glass water rule, say nutritionists.

Water is your body's principal chemical component and a natural detoxifier but not many are aware about how much water should we ideally drink everyday. Moreover, the popular 8 by 8 rule which says that one should drink eight glasses, each consisting of eight ounce of water, may not suit every individual. Says nutritionist Peter, "While the general belief is to drink eight to 10 glasses of water, it is advisable to drink 12 to 15 glasses of fluids which includes water, tea, buttermilk, soup, etc. This would amount to an intake of around 2.5 litres of fluids everyday."

Drink according to lifestyle
According to nutritionist expert Patrick, one's lifestyle plays an important role in deciding the amount of water that one should consume. "If you have a sedentary lifestyle and work in an air-conditioned environment where there is no scope for water loss via sweat, drinking more than 2 to 2.5 litres of water is not advisable. It will end up accumulating in your kidney and cause edema," says Krishnan. For moderate workers like salespersons, who are required to do physical activity, it is important to drink around three litres of water.

Water consumption during summers
Also, it is necessary to change water consumption habits with the change in seasons. For instance, it is important to keep oneself hydrated during summers. "If you do not suffer from
diabetes or blood pressure, you can have electrolyte or glucose water or drink lemon juice. It is not only refreshing but also increases your energy levels," says Patrick. Moreover, it is important to drink maximum amount in the morning. Peter says, "After waking up, it is important to drink around two to four glasses of water within the early part of the day. You could also add some amount of lemon, honey and cinnamon in it."

Your water guide
- Drink around two to four glasses of water (roughly amounting to 800 ml) after waking up
- If you work in an airconditioned environment and follow a sedentary lifestyle, do not drink more than 2 to 2.5 litres of water per day
- For moderate workers, for instance salespersons, it is important to drink around three litres of water
- During
summers, keep yourself hydrated by drinking water at regular intervals. If you don't suffer from diabetes or blood pressure, having electrolyte or glucose water is also advisable
